Lye Creek Prairie Burn Parking Lot
Amos Butler Audubon Society matched $3,400 in donations received for the construction of The Burn parking lot
Friends of Amos Butler Audubon Society have enjoyed many a field trip at the Montgomery County prairie and wetland property known as “The Burn”. Earlier this year the longtime owner and caretaker of the site passed away, leaving ownership to his good friend Shari McCoullough. Shari got to work, and in May started a fundraiser for her most recent project- a much-needed parking lot. Amos Butler Audubon Society matched $3,400 in donations received for construction of the “Burn” parking lot. Below is the property owner Shari McCollough’s photos and dialogue taken, with permission, from her Facebook page.
