Join Amos Butler Audubon Society and Central Indiana Land Trust for an invitation only hike at CILTI’s recently purchased Fern Station in Putnam County on April 26, 2025. This is a great opportunity to visit this unbroken forest that hosts such birds as the Cerulean Warbler, Worm-eating Warbler, and Hooded Warbler.

This is CILTI’s largest piece of land ever purchased. Donors contributed more than $1million dollars for the purchase and ABAS was one of those contributors, donating $25,000. This land will eventually be open to the public but currently is by arranged tours only. The hike will be led by a CILTI employee but ABAS will have a point person on site.

The hike will be from 8:00-10:00am. Sturdy hiking boots and long pants are recommended. Some of the terrain may be primitive.

To sign up for this special opportunity, please email Laurie Voss at laurievoss25@gmail.com or text 317-979-9101. There is a 10 person capacity. ABAS members only may sign up until April 5. After that if there is space available, non-members may sign up.
