Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve is a gem for migrating birds and breeding birds alike in the early summertime. Wetland, prairie, and old-growth deciduous habitats have drawn over 180 species of birds including 30 different warblers, and 21 state threatened or endangered species. Olivia Bautch, director with ABAS, will lead this peak-migration hike.

Guests should park in the preserve’s lot off of Hauge Road. We will meet by the picnic tables near the trail gate. Make sure to bring your binoculars. If needed, we will have a couple of pairs available to lend.

The field trip is limited to 10 participants and early registration is offered to ABAS members until April 19th, after which time non-members may register if there are any open spots. To register email Laurie Voss at laurievoss25@gmail.com.
